I am one of those kinds of people that likes searching high and low for all the new ways to market, make money, and to get traffic to the website business you are promoting. So many online businesses make their money selling you information about how they do it. There’s such a glut of systems out there, it’s mind-numbing.

When I’ve actually looked at these courses, videos, webinars, and PDF’s a mile long, I am astounded by how much information there is to digest. Now, I’ve rarely bought any of them because I know it would become a full-time job just to dissect, understand, and try to put these methods into practice. I already have a full-time job off the Internet. And, I work full-time online as it is. So, to overload my brain with an endless array of information out there would end up becoming counter productive.

During the gold rushes in our Country, many businesses made their fortune selling picks and shovels and every other sort of mining supply available to all the miners with stars in their eyes. It is no different today online. Many of the information sellers out there are essentially selling you the “picks and shovels” of the online gold rush.

For the business that I am co-owner of, we are always looking for new ways to spread the word about all the incredibly great things we have to offer. Here’s the big deal: you may have the best most amazing business anywhere, but if no one sees it, it doesn’t matter. You have to get traffic, and that’s all there is to it.

But, there are so many other folks online trying to do the same thing that it’s very difficult to find your audience, let alone convert them into members of your business, even when it’s free to join and earn like ours is.

So, while I continue searching for all the right places and ways to advertise, it’s very difficult to ascertain which methods you should use. I almost think it doesn’t matter anymore. You hope to create the perfect storm so that it all comes together one day and the masses will find your awesome creation so that they can reap the rewards right along with the you, the owners. We’ve always believed that it’s the members first, and us second. A noble philosophy to be sure, and our business is very unique in all that we offer. But again, it’s getting everyone to find us and to see what we’ve got to offer.

Trying to earn a steady stream of income online is no easy task. But, it is highly enjoyable. It’s definitely a lot of work, but it’s something that is extremely satisfying, so I couldn’t really call it a “job.” It’s too much fun for that. And, that’s the whole idea: find something you love doing, and hope the making money part will follow.

For the record, here’s how we are marketing “our baby” today: search engine optimization, social networking at all the regular places, YouTube videos, email lists, article marketing, which is what I am doing as we speak, word of mouth advertising, offline advertising with fliers, cards, and we all sport magnetic car signs, too. We’re always looking for other ways and places to promote on a daily basis. Yeah, it’s a lotta work. And, we totally believe it will pay off sooner or later.

I know achieving great success is doable. I just don’t know how long it will take. But, judging by my many experiences in the past, that’s always impossible to calculate. Just being online with a great idea, and the extraordinarily generous business that has sprouted from it, may at any moment “go viral” on us. One can only hope.

At the very least, we know what we’ve got. Now all we need is a bunch of good luck and serendipity. And, if we keep plugging away, maybe someday you’ll know all about us.

In the end, our motto is: “YOU FIRST, us second.” We are hell-bent as ever to outlast the odds until we make it, and make it big.
